SECS/GEM integration services:
choose how we work with you

Insphere Technology is a Singapore-based provider of SECS/GEM, GEM300 and factory host integration services for semiconductor, electronics and photovoltaic equipment. Choose the engagement model that best suits your engineering resources, your equipment and your customer's requirements.

Turnkey Integration

You focus on the machine. We deliver turnkey SECS/GEM integration — the equipment GUI, factory host integration and acceptance support — start to finish.

Requirements & specification
agree SECS/GEM, GEM300 or MES requirements and acceptance criteria with the end user

Interface development
SECS/GEM, GEM300, PLC-to-SECS/GEM or customer-specific host interfaces

Integration testing
communication and workflows tested with simulation and factory hosts

Acceptance support
host integration, troubleshooting and factory acceptance testing

Co-development

Your engineers and ours work as one team. You decide which parts you build in-house and which parts Insphere delivers.

Shared scope
split the work by component: GUI, SECS/GEM host interface, PLC mapping or testing

Interface definition
agree SECS/GEM data, events, alarms, commands and states together

Engineering support
reviews, guidance and troubleshooting for your team's development

Knowledge transfer
your team builds lasting SECS/GEM and factory-integration know-how

Automatisierung älterer Maschinen

Keep your proven equipment running and ready for today's factory. Whether your machine is PC-based or PLC-based, we modernise it without replacing it — so you can collect its data, connect it to the factory host, or integrate external handlers, robots and AMR/AGV systems.

Data collection
capture equipment and process data from legacy machines through the machine's user interface, without touching its hardware or software

Factory host connectivity
connect to factory systems (e.g. MES) via SECS/GEM, TCP/IP or factory-proprietary protocols

Material handling integration
read the equipment UI to determine machine status, then signal AMR/AGVs or robots to load or unload the material

Signal & data mapping
expose states, alarms, events and process data from the PC or PLC

What you get: factory-ready equipment, more usable data, and a practical alternative to replacing the machine.

From requirements
to factory acceptance.

Integration starts with understanding what the factory expects. We work with your team through interface definition, implementation, testing, and acceptance support.

01

Understand

Review equipment capabilities, operator needs, and factory requirements.

02

Define

Agree the software scope, interfaces, data mapping, and acceptance criteria.

03

Develop

Build and configure the agreed GUI, connectivity, and integration software.

04

Validate

Test communication and workflows using simulation and available equipment or host environments.

05

Support

Help resolve integration issues and support acceptance testing with the end user.

Case studies. Real integration challenges.

Loader / unloader. Connected to the factory.

The customer built the machine automation. Insphere delivered the host integration around it.

The challenge
Connect the equipment PLC to the factory host and address the end user’s integration requirements.

Our role
Managed host requirements, connected the PLC to SECS/GEM, and supported factory acceptance testing.

The outcome
A connected production workflow, with machine automation and host integration handled by the respective teams.

AMR data. Visible to the factory.

A custom interface brought mobile equipment data into the factory MES.

The challenge
Make AMR location, status, alarms, and utilization available to factory systems.

Our role
Connected PLC data to the MES through a custom interface tailored to the factory’s needs.

The outcome
Factory visibility into AMR location, operating status, alarms, and utilization.

More inspection data. The existing connection retained.

A legacy wafer inspection system gained an additional path for measurement data.

The challenge
Capture additional measurements for Host/SPC while retaining the equipment’s existing host connection.

Our role
Used NxSphere® DEX to capture measurement data from the equipment display and report it through a separate SECS/GEM interface.

The outcome
Additional data for Host/SPC, the existing connection retained, and a practical alternative to a conventional upgrade.

Häufig gestellte Fragen

Can a PLC-based machine be made SECS/GEM compliant?

Yes. Insphere connects PLC-based machines to the factory host by mapping the PLC's states, alarms, events and process data to SECS/GEM or GEM300, without rewriting the machine logic. Your PLC engineers keep ownership of machine control while we deliver the host interface.

Do you work with system integrators and automation houses?

Yes. We work with equipment makers, system integrators and automation houses whose customers require SECS/GEM, GEM300 or MES connectivity. You can hand us the full integration (turnkey) or split the work with your own engineers (co-development).

Which factory systems and protocols can you connect equipment to?

We connect equipment to factory hosts, MES and EAP systems via SECS/GEM, GEM300, TCP/IP or factory-proprietary protocols, depending on your customer's requirements.

How do you collect data from a legacy machine without source code?

We capture equipment and process data through the machine's user interface, without touching its hardware or software. The data can then be reported to the factory host, MES or SPC system — for example through a separate SECS/GEM interface.

Can legacy equipment work with AMR/AGVs or robots?

Yes. We read the equipment's user interface to determine machine status, then signal AMR/AGVs or robots to load or unload material, so older machines can take part in automated material handling.

Should we choose turnkey integration or co-development?

Choose turnkey integration if you want your team to stay focused on the machine and hand over the whole integration layer, from requirements to factory acceptance. Choose co-development if you have software engineers who want to own part of the work — you decide which components Insphere delivers.

Where is Insphere Technology based?
