Factory Integration Services
SECS/GEM equipment integration for fabs, OSATs and manufacturers — equipment characterization, multi-host connectivity, MES and RMS integration, and automated SECS/GEM testing across your multi-vendor shopfloor.
Discuss Your Project
Every equipment vendor implements SECS/GEM a little differently. Before a tool can run under MES control, it has to be characterized, connected and tested — and that work competes with everything else your factory engineers have to do.
Events, variables, alarms and recipes vary from vendor to vendor and tool to tool.
Characterizing, connecting and testing each tool takes engineering time before production can start.
SECS/GEM, MES and RMS integration expertise is hard to find and retain in-house.
Insphere Technology is a Singapore-based provider of SECS/GEM equipment integration services for semiconductor, electronics and photovoltaic factories. We help factory teams bring new and existing equipment under MES control.
Know exactly what each tool can do before you integrate it.
SECS/GEM capability assessment
events, variables, alarms, remote commands and recipes supported by each tool
Gap analysis
compare each tool's SECS/GEM implementation against your factory's host requirements
Integration-ready documentation
characterization results your team and MES vendor can build on
Connect shopfloor equipment from multiple vendors to your factory host.
Host connectivity
connect SECS/GEM and GEM300 equipment to your factory host
Multi-vendor integration
a consistent integration approach across equipment vendors and tool types
Equipment automation programs
with NxSphere® EAP+ where an equipment automation program is needed
Non-SECS/GEM equipment
legacy tools connected through their user interface, without touching hardware or software
By SECS/GEM standard, equipment supports only one active host session — a 1:1 connection. NxSphere® GEMPlexer turns that single connection into multiple host connections, without interrupting the existing production host interface.
Production host interface preserved
add N host connections while the existing production host interface stays unchanged
Engineering, FDC, SPC & analytics hosts
each additional host runs its own independent HSMS session
Host isolation
slow, disconnected or reconnecting hosts do not block or delay the production host or the equipment
Configurable routing & control
broadcast or targeted event routing, and arbitration of competing host control requests
Link equipment data, recipes and workflows with your factory systems.
MES integration
equipment status, events, alarms and process data reported to your MES
RMS integration
recipe upload, download and verification with your recipe management system
Factory protocols
SECS/GEM, TCP/IP or factory-proprietary interfaces
Validate equipment communication quickly and repeatably.
Automated test scripts
scripted SECS/GEM message and scenario tests for each tool
Integration & acceptance testing
verify host communication before tools go into production
Regression testing
re-run tests after equipment software, recipe or host changes

Discuss Your Project
A structured path for bringing each tool under MES control — whether you are ramping a new line or connecting existing equipment.
01
Assess each tool's SECS/GEM capability against your factory requirements.
02
Define host, MES and RMS integration scope, data and acceptance criteria.
03
Connect equipment to the factory host, MES and RMS.
04
Run automated SECS/GEM tests and end-to-end integration testing.
05
Support production ramp-up and troubleshoot integration issues.
WE ARE HERE TO HELP YOU
Tell us about your equipment, your MES and RMS, and your go-live timeline. Our team will help you plan characterization, integration and testing for your shopfloor.
We characterize each tool's SECS/GEM implementation, then connect it to your factory host and MES so equipment status, events, alarms and process data reach your factory systems. The same approach is applied across vendors and tool types, so every tool is integrated consistently.
Not directly. Under the SECS/GEM standard, equipment supports only one active SECS/GEM (HSMS) session at a time — a 1:1 connection with the factory host. NxSphere® GEMPlexer keeps that single equipment connection and shares it with the production host plus additional hosts such as engineering, FDC, SPC or analytics systems. Each host gets its own independent HSMS session, and the existing production host interface is preserved.
Equipment characterization is an assessment of what a tool's SECS/GEM interface actually supports — its events, variables, alarms, remote commands and recipe handling — compared with your factory's host requirements. It shows the gaps to close before the tool can run under MES control.
Yes. We integrate equipment with your RMS for recipe upload, download and verification, alongside MES integration.
We use automated test scripts that exercise each tool's SECS/GEM messages and scenarios, so communication can be verified before go-live and re-tested quickly after equipment software, recipe or host changes.
Legacy tools without SECS/GEM can still be connected. We capture equipment and process data through the machine's user interface, without touching its hardware or software, and report it to your factory host or MES via SECS/GEM, TCP/IP or factory-proprietary protocols.
